“Cheesehead trail” now posted

March 1, 2011

For those of you wanting some guidance on how to connect from the Trans-Minnesota Adventure Trail to the Trans-Wisconsin Adventure trail your wait is over.  The Maps page now contains both a northern and southern route to the beginning and end of the Wisconsin trail.  This basically now forms a “loop” that can be followed for an epic moto-adventure.

Map hosting location changed

January 5, 2011

All maps have now moved to be hosted at DualSportMaps.com.  Links are still on the Maps page.  This is an awesome site to use when planning your next adventure in Minnesota or anywhere else.  The new location allows a greater level of detail to be described compared to Google Maps alone, or in plain GPX files.  Create an account on the site to download the GPX files.

Stay warm this week!

TMAT tracks 7 and 8 updated

August 4, 2010

RallyHound from advrider.com provided some great feedback on the Duluth to Ely segment of the trail.  The feedback gets rid of paved Hwy4 heading north out of Duluth and instead heads northeast from Duluth touching lake Superior then zig zaging north to Brimson on mostly dirt roads and finally joining the old route.  Besides getting rid of some boring pavement,  the change also uses a twisty segment of Hwy 1 south of Ely and brings back Skyline Drive in Duluth.  Overall, the change brings in about 20 more miles of trail but makes this section of the trip much more interesting.  Google map, GPX, GBD, and Turn-by-Turn directions are all updated.

MinneADV Google Map

July 7, 2010

I have added a Google Map to the Maps page.  I am hoping this can be an all inclusive map showing Minnesota trails, roads, attractions, etc. for Adventure riders.  You can view it, print it, edit it, etc.  I am hoping that over time we can collect everyone’s individual knowledge into one place.
