Minnesota Adventure Riders

Many of you know the Huntersville state forest trail as a place the Twin City Trail Riders hold a once a year event.  Thanks to some very hard work by riders and the DNR this trail is now a permanent OHM trail.  You can download the latest info and map at http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/ohv/trail_detail.html?id=51

Watch that web page for information.  The trail is currently closed due to soil conditions but I imagine with the weather we have been having it will open soon.

I will be working to include this trail in the Foothills Loop that branches off the TMAT.  I will also try to use the DNR map as an overlay on dualsportmaps.com website soon.  Stay tuned!

I try to plug Minnesota vendors every once and while on this blog.  Not every rider knows about all the manufacturers and dealers of parts and accessories here in MN.  This time I’d like to point people towards Dennis Kirk’s  scratch and dent store on eBay.  There are hundreds of items online and there are some good deals to be had.  I picked up a fender bag for $10 recently. Surf on over and check them out.

The snow isn’t letting up here in the northland. So time to hunker down and work out a return route from International Falls back down to Iowa.  If you have some ideas for this route feel free to use the Contact Us link to send us the info.  If you view the current map you will find a route is already proposed.  That route will be refined and an “official” route will be finished before riding season.

Spring is the time to shop for bikes.  Everyone seems to be cleaning out the garage and getting rid of stuff.

This is a great way to break out of your cabin fever and see the latest products on the market. KTM and BMW appear to be no-shows though. Hmmmm…maybe next year? 1 day tickets are $15, but when you buy online you can opt to purchase a $15 bikebandit.com gift certificate and get a ticket free!

Mark has created a great 12 min video of the northern half of the trail from this last Fall and posted it to YouTube.  It is a MUST watch.  Thanks Mark for doing this!!

My prayers go out to the families of these guys.  I don’t know the details, but its a wake up call for all of us to take the corners slowly, you never know what’s coming the other way.
