Sellers wanted for upcoming Swap Meet!

March 21, 2015

It is almost time for what could be our 3rd Annual MinneADV Swap Meet.  However, this year I’d like to make sure we have a good number of sellers committed to showing up.  I’d like to see at least 10 sign up. The proposed date is Saturday April 18th from 9AM to Noon and will again be held in St. Paul.  If you have Adventure Touring or Dual Sport gear, parts, or whole bikes please respond on our Google Group message board letting us know you are committed to showing up and selling.

This is a fun event and a chance to kick off the riding season with other riders.  Please respond ASAP so we can have another successful year!

BMW Owners Association to host 2014 Rally in Saint Paul

November 5, 2013

This may be old news to some, but I hadn’t heard it yet.  The BMW MOA has scheduled their 2014 rally for Saint Paul July 24-27 at the State Fair grounds.  Great news to have such a well marketed motorcycle event locally.  Plan to go even if you don’t own a BMW.

Hop on over to the BMW MOA site for more info.

The jump over to our Rider Meetup site to let everyone know you are going.

Canadian attempts cross country trip on KLR in winter

April 7, 2013

This guy really has some guts. Can’t wait to watch Part 2. Even if you aren’t a KLR rider, you should watch this. Living in the frozen north we understand the perils of winter riding, but this guy embraced them. Can’t give him enough props.

Chisolm OHM Trail opened this month

June 13, 2012

Just a quick public service announcement.  One June 2nd the Chisolm ATV / OHM trail had is ribbon cutting.  Now this is a pretty short (12 mile ) gravel trail, but it is good to see ANY expansion of OHM riding opportunities in the state.

DNR map is here

I also added a waypoint to the “TMAT East” GPS map in case anyone wants to swing by Chisolm when riding the TMAT.

Huntersville State OHM Trail update

March 14, 2012

Many of you know the Huntersville state forest trail as a place the Twin City Trail Riders hold a once a year event.  Thanks to some very hard work by riders and the DNR this trail is now a permanent OHM trail.  You can download the latest info and map at http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/ohv/trail_detail.html?id=51

Watch that web page for information.  The trail is currently closed due to soil conditions but I imagine with the weather we have been having it will open soon.

I will be working to include this trail in the Foothills Loop that branches off the TMAT.  I will also try to use the DNR map as an overlay on dualsportmaps.com website soon.  Stay tuned!
