In case you need something to do this weekend in Park Rapids…

Thank you everyone for making the swap meet a success this year.  It was the best turnout we have had, with more sellers and more buyers than years past.  The weather was beautiful as well, which I think encouraged more ride-ins this year.  Many great deals on parts and gear were too be found.  Four bikes were for sale, which was again more than we have had before and one sold. It was great to see people walking away with arms full of stuff and smiles on their faces.  More than one seller commented to me that it didn’t really matter how much they sold, but it was the camaraderie and social time that made it worth their while.  I couldn’t agree more

Also a big thanks to everyone who donated generously via buying coffee and pastries.  This really helps out paying for the blog, etc.

The 3rd Annual Minnesota Adventure Riders swap meet will be held tomorrow, Saturday April 18th.  The weather forecast looks great! This year we are also encouraging this as a “Ride-in” to kick off the riding season. So get the bike polished (or just leave it covered in mud) and ride it in. The location is HAS CHANGED.  It is now at Highland Park in Saint Paul just a half mile north from our normal location. This is centrally located just off West 7th and Montreal Ave. From 35E exit West 7th street, head west on West 7th, go north on Montreal, and your first right will be the park.  The shelter is tucked back in behind the playground at the end of the parking lot. We will be using the shelter picnic tables to setup.

When: April 18th, 9AM – Noon. Sellers are encourage to arrive at 8:30 to setup. 

Bad Weather Policy: In case of bad weather announcements will be made on MinneADV.info.  Subscribe for updates!

Fees: There are none. No charge to browse or sell. This is a grass roots, community organized event. Coffee and Pastries will be available to purchase to help offset costs of running the website.

Sellers:  About 6  picnic tables are available, but prepare to bring your own table, boxes, etc. to display your merchandise. No cruiser or sport bike stuff, let’s keep this focused on Adventure, Touring, and Dual Sport bikes. Bring one item to sell or a bring a trunk full, it doesn’t matter. A shelter is available to put your tables under, but space is limited.

Rules:

• No flammable or hazardous material.
• No household goods
• No tents/shelters may be setup (park rule)
• Limit your stuff to what will fit on one or two a 3X6 picnic or fold-up tables.

Just a reminder to our readers that the national rally for BMW Owners is scheduled for this weekend at the state fair grounds.  Learn more at the BMWMOA website.  You can also let other Minnesota riders know you are going on our “Meetup” page.  There is a FANTASTIC line up of vendors and seminars so go check it out!  It promises to be one of the largest moto events Minnesota has seen in a long time.

Don’t forget to stop over at “Tech Day” today to get your spring tune up done, or that new farkle bolted on. Get more information on our Meetup site. Sixteen have signed up already and more usually drop in.  Looks like it will be great weather for it!
